‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Trailer, Teaser Poster, and Andrew Garfield’s First Comic-Con

Nix what I said, I’m just going to write and post as much as possible until I pass out. First off, as many of you are aware, the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man dropped this week. It is definitely a departure from the tone and style we saw in Raimi’s films, and I can’t help but feel like they may be trying too hard to be The Dark Knight. That being said, I like Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, and I’m fond of the trailer overall. Check it out above.

After the jump we have the teaser poster from the film, as well as video of what may be the most heartwarming moment of Comic-Con 2011, from what I’ve witnessed.

Before we get into the tearjerker stuff, let’s take a look at the teaser poster.

Pretty standard fare for a teaser poster, but I dig it. On to the more important moment…

The hands-down most heartwarming and tearjerking moment of Comic-Con 2011 in my opinion began at the beginning of the panel for The Amazing Spider-Man. If you had any doubts about Andrew Garfield or is dedication to the role, take a look at the video below.

If you don’t roll a small tear at that, you’re not human. You know what brings out a fantastic representation of a famous, iconic character? An actor that truly recognizes and understands the impact that character has had on people throughout history, and if they too were affected by that character then all the better. I have no worries about The Amazing Spider-Man because I think with that much love for the character, there is no way on this planet that Andrew Garfield won’t absolutely CRUSH the role.

Go get ’em, spider-friend.

The Amazing Spider Man swings into theaters on July 3rd, 2012.
