First Look: Henry Cavill as Superman in ‘Man of Steel’
Open mouth, insert foot. Just this morning I reported on the spitcurl look saying I’d withhold judgment until I saw Cavill in the full suit. Well just a little while ago we GOT that first look at Cavill in the suit, and you know what I think?
Dope. I think it may look better when the colors aren’t so muted, but I like the overall look. Looks slightly less goofy than usual, and I can’t really tell but it appears the red underwear is gone to match the new redesign. Check out the full image after the jump. One thing that does irk me, however, is where’s the spitcurl? Is he keeping it as Clark and losing it as Supes? Odd.

Let’s swap it up. What do you guys want to see most from Man of Steel or the relaunch?
Well, first, I don’t like the relaunch. I hate it. And it’s actually fueled by egos and Dan Didio is ruining the DC universe because of it. Thats why a lot of us fans, including me are protesting it. Besides, it won’t be as great as action comics and I have a feeling this relaunch won’t last a whole year, do to the fact it’s losing a lot of readers by driving away a lot of long-time fans.
Anyway, in general, in a Superman movie, I want to see him fight a different villian, in seeing Superman kicking ass and cutting loose on his powers and seeing a lot a thing being smashed during the fight.
Well Zod vs Supes should be pretty epic. Two Kryptonians dueling it out and all. As for the relaunch, I don’t know if it’ll work or not. Sales are at record levels, and cutting out muddled continuity is helpful. I guess we’ll see how it goes.
It’s ok for him or her to feel the way they feel. Superman had stood the test of time and there are those who love him and those who love to hate him. It’s their prerogative.

@Juan Andres Meh. He’s too small for the role. Plus they once again made the suit and cape too dark, and personally, I don’t like the cast lineup. besides, I don’t trust Zack Snyder.
Lol Anthony buddy. I see your hear fighting for us Superman fans. Not so sure with this guy, so far Routh is looking better physically. Also I hope they did get rid of the style of superman that has been his bedrock and the entire suit is intact for the most part. There was a huge fan boycott and uproar with Returns, just because Singer screwed with the size of the S and costume of Superman. If your going to do superman, update the suit, but make sure its still the supes that fought Doomsday style. The superman stories since Johnbyron through Roger stern and Death and Return have been the best superheroe stories ever written. Snyder needs not to mess with greatest, but put his stamp to re introduce the most incredible and first superhero to the masses. 🙂 ANd no more lex real estate scams stories lol
I see. Yeah, I always wanted him to face more than Lex because he has a large amount of enemies he could fight, like Metallo, Mongol, Darkseid, Parasite, etc. But unfortunately, he’s rehashing a villian he’s already fought in movies and but despite the special effects, I don’t entirely have a good feeling about this. And again, I do not trust Snyder.
I’d love a Supes movie where Darkseid and Apokolips invade earth. Throw in a lantern corps cameo as well? Geek heaven.

I’m keeping guardedly optimistic about his take until I see a trailer. I honestly just want to see Superman punch someone again. Then I’ll be happy. Just have to wait and see I suppose. Here’s to hoping Snyder earns our collective trust.
