Sony Announces PS3 Price Drops

Starting yesterday, Sony has cut prices again for the PS3, with the 160gb model now costing $249, and the 320gb model being dropped to $299. This puts the console right in the same price line as the wifi-only Vita, which will launch later this year. While for me, the price of the Vita suits it’s capabilities, there’s no telling if Sony will reduce the price of the handheld in order to attract more people to it, and also to compete with the newly sub-200 3DS.

Personally I think the PS3 could have done with a bigger drop, with the Xbox 360 starting at $199 and the Wii at $150, but Sony seems pretty confident that this will suffice for now.
