‘Batman: Arkham City’ Gets a Soundtrack

One of the reasons I love the current age we live in is the proliferation of nerd culture amongst all forms of creative media. Before I get into details, I just have to say this bluntly to convince myself it’s actually happening: there’s going to be a full soundtrack for Arkham City, with songs about the greater Batman mythos, and it actually looks good. You have to remember, the last time we got a full artist soundtrack for anything Batman related was for the deliciously cheesy but still abysmal Batman and Robin and featured some seriously horrendous tracks.

Luckily, this album shows promise. Hit the jump for details.

Well, I’m sure first off you’d all like to see the track list. Here you go:

1. Panic! At The Disco – Mercenary
2. Coheed and Cambria – Deranged
3. The Duke Spirit – Creature
4. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Shadow On The Run
5. Blaqk Audio – Afterdark
6. The Raveonettes – Oh, Stranger
7. (Crosses) – The Years
8. The Damned Things – Trophy Widow
9. Daughtry – Drown In You
10. The Boxer Rebellion – Losing You
11. Serj Tankian – Total Paranoia
(Bonus Collector’s Edition Track)
12. A Place to Bury Strangers – In The Shadow

Panic! At the Disco, Blaqk Audio, The Damned Things, and Coheed and Cambria writing songs about the Batman mythos? Sign me up, I’m in. I have enough faith in the talent selected for this album to say it’s probably going to be killer.

Batman: Arkham City – The Album hits stores on October 4th, but if you’ve pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition of the game you’ll receive a downloadable code for the soundtrack along with the game on October 18th.
