‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Theatrical Trailer

Well, it’s finally arrived. Now that plenty of people have seen the debut of the theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises in front of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and thousands have seen the six minute prologue in front of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Warner has gone ahead and released the full trailer online. If you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out. Hit the jump to check it out.

“When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die.” – Chills, folks. Right there. I never doubted the finale to Nolan’s trilogy would be anything but spectacular, and this just verified it. Good stuff.

P.S. Did anyone catch that the “R” in the Gotham Rogues logo and signs is the Robin logo? Nice touch. Go back to 12 seconds in and check it out.

The Dark Knight Rises this July.

Personally, I think it looks bloody brilliant. What I love about this trailer is the fact that it shows you just enough to keep you hooked, but not enough to spoil the story. Who is Bane (Tom Hardy)? And why is he attempting to destroy Gotham City? Where has Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale) been for eight years and what has actually brought him back to Gotham. Was it Gordon, Bane or something else? All I know is, that come next Summer, I’ll be at the front of the queue for ‘TDKR’!

Exactly. I doubt anyone could tell you the story after seeing that. Personally, I think Bruce has been around for eight years just enjoying the relative peace.

This looks great but Anne Hathaway kind of ruins it for me.
