Since we’re somewhat back I’ve decided to expand The Rogues Gallery a bit. The sheer amount of concept art that goes into any gaming project is absolutely staggering, and given how gorgeous most of it is it’s an absolute shame that many are completely unaware of a lot of it. So we’ll be showcasing the concept art of some gaming titles from time to time, and I’ve decided to kick it off with the art of FINAL FANTASY XIII as I’m currently replaying it. Hit the jump to check it out!
We’ve already seen artist Ant Lucia’s gorgeous series of DC Bombshells as a line of statues, but now we have some good news for those of you a little too light in the wallet to buy a ton of statues: they’ll soon be available as prints over at his shop. Hit the jump to check out the prints.
Man, I don’t know how I missed these at NYCC this year but color me depressed that I did. Artist Phillip Sevy takes arguably the two most famous families in comics, the Bat-family and the X-Men, and lets them get their hipster on in two of his latest pieces, complete with Instagram filter. Hit the jump to check them out.
Well this is totally out of left-field, but I love it. Artist Southern Panda of deviantART thought to combine not our usual Pokemon heroes as Team Fortress classes, but everyone’s favorite working class public servants: Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. Hit the jump to check it out.
I don’t know why I haven’t seen something like this before; it just seems too perfect. This rendition of the Caped Crusader in steampunk by artist Raymond Tan is simply striking, and deserves your attention. Hit the jump to see the full thing.
I’ve always been a sucker for mashup/crossover art, it’s no secret. I’m also a sucker for just plain well-done artwork. Luckily, this is both. Artist Ann Marcellino has come up with a series of art featuring a very unlikely crossover: The Avengers with Sailor Moon. It’s quite clever, and very polished. Hit the jump to see the pieces!
