Web Roundup: Biggest Flops of the Summer, Don Cheadle as Captain Planet, and the Ultimate Hypocrisy of George Lucas

Click above to read the ultimate evidence that Lucas has truly lost his mind.

Oh, the sweet ironic hypocrisy. So George Lucas, ever infamous for editing his movies long after release usually to the chagrin of fans, apparently spoke in front of Congress in 1988 against–wait for it–altering films after they’ve been released. Head over to Slashfilm for the juicy bits.

Click above to see some awesome art of superheroes speeding away.

You know, come to think of it, whenever you see fan art of a superhero it’s always them standing still. That just isn’t really realistic, those guys are always moving. Artist Keron Grant has realized this, and decided to incorporate motion into his depictions of some of our favorite heroes. Head over to Forever Geek to see a few.

Web Roundup: Geek Ice Cubes, Nerds That Can Take a Beating, and the Plot Synopsis for ‘Brave’

August 25, 2011 1 comment

Click above to read some new plot info about Pixar’s Brave.

I used to believe Pixar could do no wrong, but lately they had me a little worried with the giant amount of sequels they’ve announced. Luckily they do have some new original projects on the horizon, and one that looked interesting was Brave. Well, now Slashfilm has the full synopsis for Brave, and it sounds pretty good.

Web Roundup: Magneto in Drag, Fake Fast Food Chains, and Why There Shouldn’t Be an ‘Indiana Jones 5’

Click above for five reasons Indy 5 should never happen.

More than Star Wars, more than Superman, and more than even Batman, I love me some Indiana Jones. And like most Indy fans, I was crestfallen at the pile of “meh” that was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Not because of the ridiculousness, the aliens, the Shia, though those were all major factors that let to its degradation. I was disappointed because Indy bowed out gracefully at the end of Last Crusade, and to bring him back and still keep his dignity Crystal Skull needed to be a real winner. But it was just so painfully boring. You can’t have a boring Indy movie. What was considered by many to be a near perfect series was tarnished forever. The studio really should just cut its losses and move on before they tarnish it more, but they’re moving ahead with a fifth installment anyway. Screen Junkies has a list of five reasons there shouldn’t be a fifth installment, and I agree with every reason.

Click above for a set of Batwoman variant covers by Amy Reeder that may tragically never see print.

Well this is a shame. Over at Comics Alliance they’ve posted a gallery of variant covers for Batwoman by artist Amy Reeder that may never be printed. It would seem that DC has abandoned the variant cover strategy they had planned to use on Batwoman, so Reeder has debuted the covers online. Head over to Comics Alliance to check them out and learn more.
