Once more, happy DC Relaunch day! I saw this video over at GeekDraw and absolutely loved it, it’s a nice tongue-in-cheek way of poking fun at all the people freaking out over the Relaunch. I found it amusing, check it out above.
As of last night at midnight Justice League #1 is officially on sale, marking the beginning of the DC Relaunch and the New 52. It’s definitely an exciting time to be a fan, and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Here at Nerdeux we’ll be reviewing all the New 52 issues on a weekly basis, starting with Justice League #1 whenever my copy arrives from Things From Another World (probably tomorrow or Friday).
Along with the weekly reviews we’ll also be keeping an updated timeline of the continuity within the new universe, because Metron knows comic universes need one. Best to start right at the launch. Stay tuned for all the New 52 news!
P.S. Yes, I kinda also just wanted an excuse to post this awesome photo of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee handing out free pizza to everyone. Now go get some comics!
With the release of the New 52 only a week away, DC is keeping the publicity train rolling. All the artists have been hitting Twitter in full force to debut previews of some amazing splash pages and other various artworks from their books, and it all looks phenomenal. It’s starting to look like the upcoming Relaunch, which was and still remains a controversial move for DC, may actually be extremely successful at re-tooling and streamlining the universe in style. Check out the gallery of splashes after the jump.
If you were following Jim Lee, co-publisher of DC Comics and one of the architects of the upcoming New 52, on Twitter last night then you caught a look at something pretty cool: his variant cover to the upcoming Action Comics #1. Personally, I love it. It looks a lot better than the work jeans and half-cape Supes that we’ll be getting for the first few issues of the series, and it once again reinforces that Jim Lee can make anything look good. If you recall, I was not a fan of Perez’s cover to Superman #1 at all. The armor in his version just looked extremely tacky and very 90s, but Lee makes it work here. What do you think?
Well this is a pretty cool bit of news to close out the day on. With the upcoming DC Relaunch just one short week away DC has been stepping up their publicity for the New 52, showing us pencils from various issues as well as bios of writers and artists that are part of the New 52. Despite all the awesome stuff they’ve been showing, it would seem that DC isn’t quite done sharing just yet. Just a little while ago Newsarama debuted every single logo for each of the series in the upcoming New 52 of the DC Relaunch, and they’re pretty awesome. Personally, I dig the redone Green Arrow logo and the OMAC as well. Check out the full sheet after the jump.
Over at The Source the last few days they’ve been debuting the covers for the issue #3’s of the New 52, with an emphasis on showcasing new alliances and new villains in the relaunch. DC is really trying to spotlight these new reveals, even going ahead and giving us a hashtag to use when discussing them (#thenewvillains). In this post, we’ll be showcasing the covers and villains from the section of the DC Universe being referred to as “The Dark”, courtesy of The Source, after the jump.
