Web Roundup: Victorian Batman, Cars 2 Too Violent For G Rating? and the 13 Greatest Hits of The Goon

Click above for the 13 Greatest Hits of The Goon.

Without a doubt, Eric Powell’s The Goon is one of the best series in comics today. Everything about it just works, from the humor, to the tone, to the gorgeous artwork, and the emotional undertones, which has cemented it as one of my top ten books of all times. That being said, I was obviously extremely happy to see that the good folks over at Comics Alliance have compiled a list of the 13 best moments from The Goon, and I agree with their choices wholeheartedly. Head over there now to check out the list.

Web Roundup: Green Lantern Sequel, Supreme Court Strikes Down Video Game Ban, and Behind the Scenes of Star Wars

Click above for a gallery of awesome behind the scenes photos from the Star Wars saga

I don’t think there’s a single film that represents my childhood nor shaped my future as a nerd more than Star Wars. I lived on those movies as a kid, and yes I had pretty much every action figure they put out. My single greatest regret is when I was getting to sell my own stuff at my parents’ garage sale without their help for the first time, and I gave the entire collection to this woman that barely spoke English for $20. My parents suggested I get more, but I was all “pfft I know what I’m doing, MOM.” I didn’t. Some Spanish lady is sitting on a fortune in figures now. I hope she enjoys them. While I go cry over this repressed memory I accidentally brought to light, head over to Unreality to check out a gallery of awesome behind the scenes photos from the Star Wars saga.

Web Roundup: 100 Best Movies of the Decade, Handy Chart of Superpowers, and Amazing Home Theaters

June 27, 2011 2 comments

Click above for 10 absolutely spectacular home theaters.

I’ve always told myself that I don’t care how long it takes to save up for, I will have a home theater in my house after I get out of grad school and get a nice job. I don’t know what theme it will be yet, but I’ll definitely be turning to the guys that developed the theaters shown in Forever Geek’s 10 Awesome Home Theaters article. Most likely? I’ll probably go Tron or Superman themed. That could be pretty awesome.
