Well, things just got interesting. As revealed on the cover this morning by Entertainment Weekly, it looks like the Man of Steel and the Queen (I mean, given what happened in the first arc of the rebooted Wonder Woman…) of the Amazons will be an item in the New 52 DC Universe. Hit the jump to see the cover and hear all the details.
Hot on the heels of Joss Whedon’s confirmation that he’ll be returning to write and direct The Avengers 2, Variety is now reporting that Warner Bros. has approached Ben Affleck to helm Justice League. Hit the jump for all the details.
I’d like to take a minute to relay a personal message to Warner Bros. I know you guys are rushing to get Justice League done already. You’re doing the wrong thing. If I’m more excited about CG artist Daniel Araya’s imaginary, for-fun Pixar-styled Justice League production stills than your actual in-development feature, something is wrong. Slow it down, and take the time to do it well.
That being said, these are some seriously awesome CG concepts by Araya, and they do a wonderful job of showing what could have been in Pixar decided to do a Justice League feature. Hit the jump to check it out.
With the immense success of The Avengers for Marvel, it was only a matter of time until DC and Warner Bros. got their acts together and made some serious attempts at building a film universe. They’ve already (kind of) started with Green Lantern, which sort of fizzled at the box office and really didn’t hint at a larger universe. Looks like DC and Warner Bros. are game to try again, though. We’ve already known a Flash movie was in the works and today we have some comments from Warner Bros. about the state of the Wonder Woman and Justice League films. Hit the jump to read on.
It’s odd, but I love it when DC puts out solicits for their upcoming titles far in advance; usually because this is when the upcoming covers get debuted. That’s really the main reason for posting the solicits on here, I just want to show off some sick covers. One of the awesome revelations to come from this? As you can see in the preview above, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau is back on covers forBatgirl! I loved his Stephanie Brown covers, and his covers for Babs look stellar as well. Anyhoo, hit the jump to get a first look at everything coming from DC Comics in July!
DC may not be able to top Marvel just yet when it comes to their live-action adaptations (Batman aside, obviously), but when it comes to the adaptation of their famous stories into animated features DC tends to blow Marvel right out of the water. The latest offering from DC comes to us in the form of Justice League: Doom, the animated adaptation of the infamous Tower of Babel storyline, which will hit stores on February 28th, 2012. Hit the jump to check out the trailer and full box art.
We already knew that we needed a major threat to bring the Justice League together, and there’s no greater threat to the DC Universe than the God of Evil himself, Lord Darkseid of Apokalips. Starting in Justice League #4 he makes his return to the DC Universe, and we have you first look after the jump, It’s definitely different.
