Web Roundup: Proof That Lucas Really Does Just Hate the Original Trilogy

September 20, 2011 1 comment

Once again, I’m dedicating this Web Roundup to a Star Wars related rant. I don’t think Lucas thinks all the edits to the original trilogy are good ideas; I think he realizes how much it pisses us off and he’s just doing crap to the original trilogy on purpose now. I think he hates the originals, I really do. Why else on Earth, WHY I ASK YOU, would 90% of the inside sleeve be prequel characters, with Luke, Leia, and Han crammed into the top right corner BEHIND the guide? Does he really think that the people buying this pack just loooooove the prequels?

Let me break this down for you. R2-f**king-D2 has more space on this sleeve than the saviors of the galaxy, the original heroes everyone loves.

I just…I’m just done. I’m out. Period. I hereby revoke my status as a Star Wars fan. How about you guys, this piss anyone besides myself off?

Click above to see a ton of new stills from The Adventures of Tintin.

The Adventures of Tintin is probably flying under a lot of people’s radars, but I’m personally a little excited for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s adaptation of the famous comic. Over at Slashfilm they’ve released a slew of new stills, and it looks gorgeous. Head over there now to check it out.

Web Roundup: If Web Browsers Were Women, Happy Madison Sucks Now, and Vladimir Putin is Batman

Click above to read proof that Russia’s Prime Minister is training to be Batman.

I’m a regular reader of the geniuses over at Comics Alliance, not just for the awesome comic news but for the occasional just out-there original article that usually makes me laugh hysterically. One such article came today, when CA’s senior Batmanologist Chris Sims decided captioning some particularly epic photos of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin with quotes from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Year One. The results are, predictably, goddamn hysterical for comic book fans. Check it out, NOW.

Poor Squirtle, man. All he wants is to fit in at his new turtle high school or whatever, maybe grab a mask and join that ninja clique, but he just can’t seem to pull it off. Head over to Unreality to check out the rest of this fun little illustration.

My favorite part of science fiction is usually the vehicles. But hey, we can dream, and that’s why Pop Crunch has a gallery of the 10 most awesome sci-fi movie vehicles. Check it out.

Click above to read a nice little Captain Marvel fan comic.

Over at Geekdraw they’ve got a short strip illustrating a quote by Nate Cosby, a guy who’s been writing short quotations as if he were certain heroes. This one captures the essence of Captain Marvel perfectly, and is worth a read. Go look.
