Fantastic New Behind-the-Scene Photos From ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

GUARDIANSheader2

Guardians of the Galaxy is rapidly becoming my most anticipated film of the year (and will probably take the top slot once Godzilla is released). Everything about it just seems so refreshing and new compared to the rest of the Marvel universe, and after seeing the tone and expectations change quite a bit in Captain America: The Winter Soldier I think it’s safe to say that Guardians will deliver on the promised originality. Everything we’ve seen so far as well seems to reaffirm it, such as these new photos shot during production of the film. Hit the jump to check them out.

Awesomesauce: A Pixar-esque Justice League

I’d like to take a minute to relay a personal message to Warner Bros. I know you guys are rushing to get Justice League done already. You’re doing the wrong thing. If I’m more excited about CG artist Daniel Araya’s imaginary, for-fun Pixar-styled Justice League production stills than your actual in-development feature, something is wrong. Slow it down, and take the time to do it well.

That being said, these are some seriously awesome CG concepts by Araya, and they do a wonderful job of showing what could have been in Pixar decided to do a Justice League feature. Hit the jump to check it out.

Warner Bros. Talks Plans For ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Justice League’ Films

With the immense success of The Avengers for Marvel, it was only a matter of time until DC and Warner Bros. got their acts together and made some serious attempts at building a film universe. They’ve already (kind of) started with Green Lantern, which sort of fizzled at the box office and really didn’t hint at a larger universe. Looks like DC and Warner Bros. are game to try again, though. We’ve already known a Flash movie was in the works and today we have some comments from Warner Bros. about the state of the Wonder Woman and Justice League films. Hit the jump to read on.

Awesomesauce: Olan Rogers’ Awesome Fan-Made ‘Mega Man X’ Film

I love it when a fan film comes along that is so damn good it makes you forget that the majority of them are worthless piles of garbage. This film, directed by Olan Rogers, starts up with a message Dr. Light recorded 100 years ago then gets into a pretty cool fight sequence between X and Protoman. Check it out above.

Awesomesauce: Alan Moore’s ‘Batman: The Killing Joke’ Re-Enacted With Shadow Puppets

After watching this, it’s become abundantly clear that I really should be ashamed to have been so proud of my awesome bunny shadow puppet as a child. This Spanish-language adaptation was done by Oscar Andrés Rodríguez and a bunch of his classmates and is exactly as disturbing as you’d expect it to be. Enjoy.

Test Footage of ‘The Goon’ From Comic-Con 2009 Proves Once Again That This Adaptation NEEDS to Be Made

September 15, 2011 Leave a comment

Just earlier this year I was wondering exactly what’s up with David Fincher’s adaptation of Eric Powell’s The Goon, one of my favorite comics of all time. We saw a proof of concept test back in 2010 that looked phenomenal, and haven’t heard a peep since. Well, as it turns out the entire reason it hasn’t been made yet is simply because no one wants to fund it. As such, creator Eric Powell has gone ahead and debuted the footage from way back at Comic-Con 2009 as a sort of public service announcement to announce the need for funding (and to show you the proper way to kill yourself a slackjaw). Check it out after the jump.
