This Trailer For an HD Remake of ‘The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask’ Isn’t Real. But It Still Looks Amazing.

It’s always bittersweet when you see a fan-made trailer that’s so good you wish the game it’s teasing would really happen. Some clever fans tried to use all news coming out of E3 to pass off this trailer for a Wii U remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask as legitimate; it isn’t, but maybe Nintendo should pay attention because it looks fantastic. Hit the jump to see it.

One Seriously Amazing ‘Legend of Zelda’ Music Video

November 18, 2011 Leave a comment

You know, usually a Zelda medley gets a music video made from clips from the previous games. This is one step further. Cosplayer Lindsey Stirling stars in this awesome video where she plays out a full Zelda medley in costume while prancing through various locales. It’s the first, as far as I can tell, actual music video made for The Legend of Zelda. Check it out above.

Awesomesauce: That’s a Life-Sized Hero of Time. Made of Paper. I Want One.

About a year ago, I dabbled in papercraft. I started with Cubeecrafts but soon worked my way up to attempting a full structure. I remember it vividly; I was trying to assemble an airship from FINAL FANTASY XI and despite having a template and instructions printed out, I failed miserably. I failed at cutting, gluing, and folding it properly. That’s why seeing this life-sized statue of Link from The Legend of Zelda made entirely out of paper absolutely blows my mind. I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been. Details after the jump.

The Legend of Cucco

Oh, this is a fun little video. Every Zelda fan remembers their first time hunting cuccos in A Link to the Past…then subsequently realizing those feathery bastards could call in for reinforcements. The above video, “The Legend of Cucco” takes a look at Zelda from the cucco’s perspective. Check it out.

Nintendo Takes a Very Quick Look Back at The Legend of Zelda.

Nintendo is celebrating 25 years of Zelda with a myriad of mediocre content (save for that nifty flash intro). Latest of that content is a brief history of Nintendo’s most beloved of Zelda games. Honestly I’ve been really disappointed in the “celebration” of one of the best video games in history. Sure that fancy orchestra is neat, but with the cheap seats sold out, you’re spending at least $100 a person. Other than that there’s some wallpapers and a high-res image of famous Zelda characters. That’s it. No gold cartridges, no timeline reveals, nothing I would say worthy of the Hero of Time. Hit the jump for more of the story.

Awesomesauce: Zac Gorman’s Animated Zelda Comics

June 28, 2011 2 comments

Now THIS is definitely worthy of the title of Awesomesauce. Illustrator Zac Gorman, amongst many other nerdy entries in his portfolio, has a series of comics inspired by The Legend of Zelda utilizing subtle bits of animation. The strips themselves are an absolutely joy to read, and the animation makes it all the better. Hit the jump for some of our favorites, including non-Zelda art, and head over to his site to check out the rest.

Ever Notice the Best Link Cosplayers Are Women?

June 20, 2011 3 comments

It’s uncanny. There’s been a big trend lately of ladies cosplaying as the legendary Hero of Time over the last few years, and the results are spectacular. I’m willing to believe that Link is secretly a girl, and Nintendo is just afraid to admit it. Hit the jump for some fantastic female Links with some of the most detailed costume work I’ve ever seen.
